Level Up Your Care: The Empowered Caregiver

While not required to join, we highly encourage all volunteers to expand their knowledge. For every Alzheimer’s Association course you complete and show verification of, you will receive special recognition in our network!

Note: If you would like to step up as a leader and run events at other local partner facilities on our behalf, you must be fully trained and certified.

What Does an Ally Do?

Lead Engagement

You will run art, music, and tactile sensory sessions for memory care residents at our partner facilities, bringing them joy and cognitive stimulation.

Provide Respite

By engaging the patients, you are directly giving their family caregivers a dedicated 1-2 hour window to step away, breathe, and avoid burnout.

Learn & Grow

Through on-site shadowing, we provide you with the empathetic communication skills necessary to interact confidently with seniors.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need prior experience with dementia?

Not at all. We provide on-site shadowing before you ever lead a session on your own, and we highly encourage utilizing the online training portals to build confidence.

How do I verify my service hours?

Once you join as a Memory Care Ally, you will receive access to our volunteer portal where a site supervisor will sign off on your logged hours for NHS, college apps, or graduation requirements.

How old do I have to be?

We currently accept high school and college students (ages 14-22). If you are under 18, you will need a parent or guardian to sign a standard liability waiver before your first visit.
